This year is flying by and the second half of the year is almost upon us. As always in the Maldives the last 6 months have seen a number of changes with more on the horizon. I certainly see this as a positive with resorts shuffling and manoeuvring to offer guests the best possible experience they can hope for.
The first property that I believe will feature heavily in the second half of 2012 will be the new renovated Huvafen Fushi. It has always been one of the Maldives best of the best resorts but come August 1st it will be even better. As you may have read in one of our earlier blogs Huvafen Fushi is currently closed but when it reopens with its new facilities, including an Overwater Sunset Bar, I believe it will be very hard to look past for those looking for a high level Maldives experience.
For those of you looking to travel in the next couple of months we have a great free night deal at Huvafen Fushi which is valid through until 30 September. For those looking to travel later in the year, you don’t miss out, there are some excellent early bird percentage discounts available too.
When it comes to best of the best resorts I can’t go without mentioning Jumeirah Dhevanafushi. The Beach Revive room category here is spectacular. Between now and mid December they offer some of the most incredible value. Some date ranges also include complimentary dinner which makes the offer even more compelling. Jumeirah Dhevanafushi also offers Ocean Revives for those looking for something overwater. Jumeirah Dhevanafushi is priced at the higher end of the scale but don’t just immediately think it is beyond reach. Definitely drop me a line and I will be happy to check it out for you.
The next property I want to mention will be somewhat of a ‘second coming’. As of July 29th the Beach House Waldorf Astoria as it is currently known will revert back to its original management. With this comes some amazingly low prices which we haven’t seen since the early days when Beach House originally opened. For those looking for an absolute bargain, you simply can’t beat the amazing value on offer here. I would recommend either a 5 night or 7 night package and typically these packages cost in the $3500 to $4500 range (Total for two people, not per person). A stay at Beach House also comes with the following amenities:
Beach House Maldives
Complimentary services & activities:
- 45 minutes Jetlag massage on arrival
- Complimentary motorized AND non-motorized water sports
- An Introductory dive per stay
- Complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar beverages throughout the stay
- Snorkeling equipment
- Bottled water
- WIFI internet access across the resort
- Tea & Nespresso facilities in villa
- Access to Kids Club (some activities may be chargeable)
- All facilities within the Recreation Centre PLAY
One of the newest resorts to the Maldives is Niyama and I definitely think this is a resort that will come into its own in the next 6 to 12 months. Whilst they are currently putting the final touches to the Overwater Restaurant and underwater club (the first of its kind in the Maldives) the resort is a real cracker and they have some great concepts. I love the popcorn (and popcorn machine) in the Villa which allows you to make your own snack at any time day or night (free of charge too). I also think their eatery ‘the Deli’ is a wonderful idea. The ability to purchase a sandwich and a soda for a light lunch is fantastic, not only for the budget but also the waistline. This is a great concept and I only wish it would catch on at other properties.
Pay 5 nights and stay for 7 including free dinner is a special that is available at Niyama and for those looking for a new, cool, funky, hip resort that is great value look no further.
There are a number of other resorts that continue to run great specials and offer wonderful promotions. We have partner resorts suitable for all guests and we can certainly find the best one to match your needs.
Also, just some housekeeping, new Abu Dhabi brochures are available. They look great so order yours today. Final touches to the new Maldives brochures are almost complete and we should have these in the coming month or two.
Finally, it is always best to start planning now for your getaway in the second half of the year. Also, if you don’t plan on traveling until early 2013 get moving on it now. I am already taking a number of bookings for January, February and even March so booking sooner rather than later is the way to go.
Until next time, safe travels
