Linara Travel: “Justin Parkinson, our Director of Sales, talks about a few of his favorite specials going on in the Maldives over the next few months”…
Maldives – Value for Money.
When many people think of the Maldives their initial reaction, as well as ‘wow’, is often ‘oh that will be too expensive’. The Maldives is often not regarded as a ‘value for money’ destination but with so many new resorts opening Linara Travel has negotiated a number of great specials and we can certainly guide you to resorts that can offer the best bang for your buck.
Before getting into specific properties, let’s talk a little about when to travel. The Maldives is a great destination for travel all year round but there are certain times of the year that offer a high likelihood of great weather and guaranteed great prices. We refer to these generally as shoulder seasons.
Whilst the first of the shoulder season is coming to an end (this is the lead up to the busy Easter period) the post Easter travel period (mid April) through to the end of May still has great availability and specials. You will also typically find great specials available in August, September and the early parts of October. As we get further into the year there are also many specials and discounts in the lead up to Christmas but keep an eye on my blog for these details later in the year.
My Number 1 pick for value for money travel between 12 May and Oct 11 is Soneva Gili. I have outlined my favorite package below.
Soneva Gili – Villa Suite – 7 night accommodation package including daily breakfast, transfers taxes – $5,500* (*Total for two people, not per person. Subject to slight variations depending on your specific dates of travel – International airfare is not included)

The Villa Suite is an amazing 2, 260 sq. ft. villa built over 3 levels. It is certainly one of the most private overwater villas in the Maldives. The room specs and some room images are below
There are 29 spacious Villa Suites, all located over-water along the sides of the jetties. These suites appreciate the surrounding beauty of the island by offering open-air living rooms with daybed lounging areas, in addition to adjacent dining areas. My Number 2 pick is for value for money shoulder season travel is the fabulous Anantara Kihavah and their amazing Beach Pool Villa. The pay 5 stay 7 special makes this great value for money. Also, be sure to set aside a night to dine in their underwater restaurant, one of the few in the world.

My third pick was a hard one. There are many great resorts which offer fantastic 7 night packages between the $3,500 and $5,000 range. Given the choice in that range I simply couldn’t pick one, so keep an eye out on future blogs for resorts in this range. Instead I went the other way. I went with a resort and a special that simply cannot be overlooked. Number 3 is the Beach Revive at the new Jumeirah Dhevanafushi resort.
This is the best resort in the Maldives. And when I say the best, I mean the best of the best. They have just released a huge special (this only came out in the last couple of days). They have a 43% off sale. This is an amazing opportunity to stay at one of the best resorts in the world for almost ½ price.
Jumeirah Dhevanafushi – Beach Revive – 7 night accommodation package including daily breakfast, transfers taxes – $8,500* (*Total for two people, not per person. Subject to slight variations depending on your specific dates of travel – International airfare is not included)
